Rearend?

Rearend?
I'm new to this but need help as soon as possible.
I was just driving along yesterday, at about 45 and I heard a loud clunk, and it jarred the car. I pulled over looked the car over, couldn't find anything wrong, so I kept driving. Then today I'm driving at about 25 and the clunk was louder this time, and it really jarred the car. I looked underneath the car and the driveshaft is still tight, so I don't think it's the U-joints. I'm really hoping its not the rearend. I have been known to lay it down every once in a while but not a lot. It does have aftermarket gears in it, FRP 3.73's installed by the previous owner. I've had the car for about 7 months now and it's never shown any signs of the rearend going out. Any thoughts? Oh, and it's a five speed, 8.8 rearend.
