Red can be nearly permanent so I'd recommend blue. I would only use the red if I were using studs and then I would only put it on the threads after the nuts are on to keep themnuts from backing off.

I would purchase a set of locking ones myself, but if your gonna use loctite use the blue cause you gotta heat the red up to get it off.......I personally just tighten them as tight as I can, and once every few months check for any that have loosened up

I bought a set of Stage 8 locking header bolts... they didnt even wanna come off when i tried removing them

I use a dab of rtv, it last around 1 year and a half.

Just did so 2 hours ago, and changed to copper gaskets, the paper ones got ruined, when the bolts loosened.
