Default stalling

Hi guys and girls,
I'm new to the forum.I just bought a mustang as a gift for my daughter,it's her dream car.An 88 gt hatchback,5 speed. This is the first mustang I have ever had,so I am unfamiliar with them,It stalled on my daughter 2 weeks ago, would not restart. When I got to the car it started ok and ran for about a week ok,Then it quit again when I was with her.I pulled the coil wire off the coil and had her crank it,no spark. We had it towed home, tried it the next day, still no spark.I bought an ignition module and put it on,it fired right up.It ran fine for a couple days, then yesterday it quit on my daughter again ,would not restart for about 20 minutes then started.I have been driving it around trying to get it to quit again, but it runs good again.I was not able to check for spark when it quit on her yesterday,I was working. It also does not start right up after it sits for awhile. We either have to crank it excessively,or if we turn the key on,then turn it off, wait a couple seconds then crank it,it will start up ok.It seems like maybe a couple of different problems, but someone here told me the fuel pump cutoff switch under the steering column is probably the cause.Isn't that switch in the trunk, and could it cause these problems.I know it could't cause the spark problem, but I was thinking that maybe the stalling yesterday was a different problem connected to the extended crank it has. When it had no spark it fired right up after I changed the module.Sorry to start here in this forun by bringing a problem the first time.Hopefully when I know enough about the car I can help someone else here.

I would try to find a fuel pressure guage and keep an eye on the fuel pressure. The cut off switch that is in the trunk if it trips it won't reactivate it self again. It has to be reset manually.Might be the fuel pump overheating and shutting down.

You telling us that cycling the key on and off is a pretty dead give away that the fuel pump is sh!tting the bed.
