I think my torque converter has gone south somewhat. no accel until about 15 mph and on the highway doing 70 and step on it hits around 4500 and hardly goes anywhere, It actually accels more if I just let the passing gear kick in. any ideas?

 

could be the tranny. there isnt a whole lot that can go bad in a converter. when a converter goes, it dies completely. sounds like your tranny is going bad
