whats wrong with my 5.0!!!?!?
hey guys! im relly mad with my 89 5.0 mustang its has like a lot of performance **** in it and i only did 221 hp and 272 of tq and did a a 14.5 a 98mphon the 1/4 mile, i needHELP!!! what can i do to fix this???? my cars has bbk intake, shorty headers, crown vic injectors, 155lph fuel pump, polished and ported heads(the stocks one) a e303 FRPP cam shaft, and rollers, its bore to .30 and the compresion i got was 180 psi,a2.50 cat back with some trush pipes, electric fan,bbk under drive pulleys, msd coil blaster, and spark cables. I DONT HAVE a fuel regulator, it stils has the stock trothel body and the gears i think are 2.73, and the timing is set at 12 degres i think or 14 i dunno, but what can i do with all that stuff i was hopping for more hp and tq it has a 5 speed tranny by the way any advice is good!!!

RE: whats wrong with my 5.0!!!?!?
That's about right due to both your stock gears, and the bottle neck still occuring in the intake and heads.
Get some 3.55 or 3.73 gears, then get a better flow intake/head setup, such as a GT-40 (mild end), Trickflow/Eddelbrock (mid range), Trickflow/Eddelbrock and AFR heads (performer end). This will yield much better power, as well as performance.
The fuel pressure regulator will help, but only modestly.

Hmm a little more info might help, you posted your numbers but is that after a dyno tuning session? How large are the crown vic injectors? what intake do you have? Without question I would do maybe 3.73 gears and a fp regulator.
