A quick check of the MAF senor and throttle positon senor may help with the lean code. The filments of the senor in the MAF housing need to be clean( I think you need a T-20 bit to get it out). I would also run some complete fuel system cleaner through it, maybe even back-to-back tanks. Also, change the fuel filter, like mrj mentioned, it probably needs doing anyways. My 94 pinged on premuim gas as well, cleaning the MAF helped out tremendiously.

When replacing the fule filter, do I need to relieve linepressure at the schrader valve? of can I just wrap a rag aroung it totry and contain the fuel+remove & repalce the filter? Thanks for all the help/suggestions so far.

I usually let the car sit for a couple hours before I do the fuel filter that way the pressure has all bled off. Even still, when you pull the fuel line off, some fuel will run out, but nothing spectacular. I just hold it with a rag while I pull the old filter out, and put the new one in. Takes like 5 min to do the whole thing.
