Long Tubes or Equal Lenghts

RE: Long Tubes or Equal Lenghts
I would say LTs but if you do them you will have to do a lot of work to put them in. I have heard that you have to unbolt the motor mount on the passanger side to fit the header in from underneath and on some brands you have to take out the steering linkageto fit the driver side in. But if performance is what you want then LTs are the way to go. Lots of power and sound mean as hell.

heres what i had to do to put my mac 1 3/4 lt's on. remove steering shaft, remove driver side motor mount, and completly take driver side head off. made it easier for me though cause i just put my stock heads on my shortblock using 2 bolts so when i finally figured out the headers wouldnt go in w/o taking the head off, it was easy, but i would be pretty pissed if i had to tear apart my whole motor. then, reinstalling all that **** back in with the header finaly in place was an even bigger pain in the ***. now both headers are on, had clearence issues with my starter, buoght a mini starter, still is really close. im taking both headers back off again to wrap them up and i have to bang in a that piece of the header a tad so it clears the starter.
word of advise, if ur looking for every bit of performance out of your car, go with lt's. have an engine lift ready and an air compressor and it will make our life alot easier.

hell the equal length shorties dont go in that easy either, we had to unbolt the passenger side motor mount and jack up the car, not to mention getting to your back plugs on the passenger side. i'd say either go with the unequal lenght shorties or the LT headers, cause if your going to go thru the trouble of jacking up the motor the LT wouldnt be that much more trouble versus the equal length shorties. the unequal length took my brother a whole 30 minutes to install versus 5 hours and lost a good friend with the install of the equal length shorties.
