so im wondering how to get my 88 lx to hold 2nd gear and stop it from shifting into drive right away is ther a quick fix for this or do i need to get a diffrent valvebody that holds 2nd until i shift it to drive my self

 

You can do the 1-d-1 shuffle but its not good for the transmission. You could upgrade you valvebody and that would be the better benefit..
