Well, the gear is wasted, to the point where I can figure out how they made these things (hint, there is more than one casting involved, I'd say 6)

The good news is while 2nd gear is trashed, it quit in such a way that my inspection is showing no other damage.

Meet the part formerly known as second gear...

(Ack, I'll have to go back and post this when i get home where I have the reduced size images I can put in the photo album. )
