if the iac is malfuntioning will it come up in the memmory as a stored engine code?

My ISC (IAC) was bad and the code I would get was code "12-Cannot Control RPM, During High RPM Check" This was during the "Key On Engine Running" (KOER) tests. Once I changed that ISC motor the code was gone.
