Does any one know where the relay is, and is the fuel pump in the tank or external?

 

From what I remember, you can see the relay with out taking off the tank (it should be on top) and the fuel pump is inside, although its "mounting" parts reach to the top of the tank, so just a very small amout is ouside the tank on the passanger side.

 

The fuel pump relay is under the drivers seat.The fuel pump is in the tank you will haveto drop the tank to get to it.

 

On my '86 the relay is located under the driver seat, and the pump is intank.
