Default head porting

so i think i decided to keep my gt40 iron and get them ported. the question is what is a good company to get my heads ported by and has anyone use heads from them. and would it be worth to use head stuuds instead of bolts

Well if you are willing to send them out, then contact Thumper, I have heard that they do some amazing work when it comes to porting.

PM a member of this forum Nothsa. He has a pair of Thumper heads, and he was amazed at the extensive port work that they had done.

I have head studs, and like them. not sure if they are worth it becasue i have never dealt with a head without them. my only thought on why they would be beneficial is you have a better chance of getting bolt off top then threads out of block, especially if they are ones in a water jacket.

Bad thingI can think of is they may be a pain to deal with when you are installing or removing heads. There is a current thread on that right now.

i agree but i may decide to run a lil spray and heard it would be better to use head studs
