well, lets call it a valve train tap 1st off... it could be a rocker, but if their stock, i doubt its the rockers fault...
if it is a lifter like ur sayin, then it could be a few things, collapsed lifter, spun lifter. lifters not getting the oil pressure they need... either way the valve covers and u/l intake are comming off

If you have a stethescope listen to every rocker so you know which on is bad.
Then put the stethescope on the heads and see if the sound is stronger there. If it is you may have to replace a lifter.
