Hi all,

I bought a 1987 gt t-top mustang, and when i buy it the seller tell me my engine and my transmission has been change fora 93 gt mustang one, i check some website and i see a minor hp difference, about 10hp and that's it ... what's im looking it's a difference who's can tell me if it's a 93 or 87 gt engine, like a serial number or something like that.

Thanks for your help.

If it's a 90's roller block the part number is located up above where the starter is on the block and it'll start with a "F" if it's a 80's roller block it'll start with a "E" ans for the hp difference the long blocks are essentially the same except for the fact that 93 came with hyperutectic pistonsrather than forged......the hp difference was a result of tuning asspects of the ecm to comply with more stingent epa standards that were to come into effect

you have mass air as well now rather than the speed dynisty(spelling) set-up so keep that in mind IF YOU HAVE IT when looking for after market bolt-ons..
