87 vs 93 engine difference
Hi all,
I bought a 1987 gt t-top mustang, and when i buy it the seller tell me my engine and my transmission has been change fora 93 gt mustang one, i check some website and i see a minor hp difference, about 10hp and that's it ... what's im looking it's a difference who's can tell me if it's a 93 or 87 gt engine, like a serial number or something like that.

If it's a 90's roller block the part number is located up above where the starter is on the block and it'll start with a "F" if it's a 80's roller block it'll start with a "E" ans for the hp difference the long blocks are essentially the same except for the fact that 93 came with hyperutectic pistonsrather than forged......the hp difference was a result of tuning asspects of the ecm to comply with more stingent epa standards that were to come into effect
