i have an 84 coupe roller that i am working on and have been offered an 89 town car for the drive train really cheap

will the 8.8 rear work?

any differences in the aod in a town car and the aod out of a fox?

will i need a custom drive shaft?

It will work if it has quad mounts for theshockwhich it should if its a 8.8 and i believe the left or right axle is the same on the lincoln as the mustang if im not mistaking. you probably will have to get a different drive shaft due to the length of the lincoln and and due to the transmission in the stang. I THINK butwith any if little modifactions it will work.

Engine and tranny should work fine, you will only need a mustang drive shaft, the town car rear end as I recall will not direct bolt up I know the rear from the Mark/LSC will fit but not the towncar. You might however be able to use the rear disc brakes in combination with the correct size 8.8 and axles.

make sure the rear end is the same width. i think some of them are a little wider than mustang rear end.
