yea stock valve springs suck, even for a stock cam

i just got a new cam, and springs were a must.

schwindty... i agree... sort of... like in my case... i trashed the stock cam/lifters... im not puttinga stocker back in, even w. stock heads/intake... im putting an aftermarket one in.... no use in doing something twice imo... ill give results when its done...

idk, im just saying we dont know this guys situation

nope it pulled all the way to 5500 no prob run a 13.3 at 103 with that and edlebrock intake, shorty headers, 3.73, slicks and thats it! picked up 2 tenths just by adding cam and a lot of street performance
you' wouldn't even make it close to 6 grand with stock springs and an f-cam......it'd float!!! been there done that.......infact I had a b-cam and it did thatAt around 5700 it sounded off like a howitzer gun blasting!!! broke down like no other so I had to short shift everytime[:'(].. no fun running a cam with out matching springs.........hmmm 13.3 @103 ehhhh???? with matching springs you could of hit 12.94 @ 103 like my friends car did...of course driver ability plays an important role too

^^ I agree but if there is no future plans for heads or such ......a cam is pretty much usless. There was that blacksnake dude running that S trim Edelbrock heads and intake at 450 RWHP. They are pretty decent cams from the factory.

I agree on that one......I put ported stock heads on my 92 and took the stock cam out and installed matching springs and an f-cam with ported stock heads all at once......performance before change = 13.89 @ 97 mph after change 13.91 @ 97 mph......[sm=headbang.gif][sm=happy046.gif][sm=happy046.gif]yeah baby can you say flush the money down the ole camode!!!!!
