Default Electrical Nightmare

[align=left] I've been having this problem. Car won't start because the battery is dead. I've put two alternators in the car and two new batteries. I also changed the headlight switch, thinking that it had a short because my parking lights would go on and off by themselves. It fixed the problem of them going on and off but.... After the second time of putting the alternator and battery in the car it ran great for roughly two weeks. This morning the battery was dead, again.

The car does have an electric fan on it, the fan is constantly on and off for about 30-40 minutes after I turn the car off, could this be what's draining the battery?

could be.........butyou need to perform a parasitic draw test with an ammeter and disconnect the neg battery terminal and hook a multimeter in series set to amps andcheck for a draw...generally a car at rest should have no more than a 25 milliamp to 50 milliamp max draw, with all systems off make sure key is not in ignition and all doors are shut and under hood light is unplugged when performing test
