I just bought a 85 mustang with a 92 5.0 motor in it for 700 bucks. I could pass it up. The only problem is that when in first gear it studers and chokes but once up to 20 it if fine. It is running straight headers because of the bolt was broken. could it be the o2 sensor?

 

well for one I'd straighten your exhaust issue out then run a koeo/koer test and check for any codeshowever is your car fuel injected or carb'ed.....in 85 they are either carb'ed or cfi fuel injected which would also mean your car is an auto tranny equipped one

 

it has a 92 efi 5.0 HO motor in it and it is manual. also the guy said that it might need a new fuel regulator but i dont know why it would need a new one if it runs fine after 2nd gear.
