Yes have heard of them, have removed/trashed a few, and no they are not worth it.

i had a jetchip in my 94 SHO and i noticed a slight change in the throttle response and it did improve the shifts a little, but not the 20 HP increase they say id say it was about 10hp, i have the hypertech in my 88 GT and i noticed the timming advance slightly and thats about it id sa it was about the same increase in hp as the jet, but nothing that you will really notice.
