Default Starter relay?

What are the two small middle posts for on the starter relay? Its on a 1992 mustang.

one is used for the engagement of the relay and it'll be hot in crank...why do you want to know???

my friend bought a 4 cyl converted to a v8 and they have several wires running to the middle posts and to the battery side.I was just wondering why they werent ran to the fuse box instead?

it could of been that;that was the closest place to tap for the 12 volt source needed to power up whatever those wires are running..and or they found the easiest power source they came across and over utulized it.....if your not having problems I wouldn't worry about it but I'm for the clean look so I'd probably find all those wires their proper homes...but without a pic it's hard to actually visualize what you got

Would it be ok for him to run the wires that are connected to the battery cable side to the fuse panel under the dash? Im assuming thats where they should be. Thanks for the help we both hate wiring with a passion.

well first you'll have to determine what and where the wires go to...any heavy gauge wires may need to be dedicated to a circuirt that'll handle the proper amperage load

Itisnt effecting anything it just looks kinda bad.I think we will figure out where the wires are coming from and then come ask what are options are as far as rerouting them,thanks.
