Default Clutch?

Should my throwout bearing be in constant contact with the plate fingers?Because there is nothing to bring the bearing back from touching the fingerson my transmission like a spring or magnet. So Im guessing on my 91 thats the way its supposed to be? No matter how I adjust it the bearing seems to be touching atleast a little bit.

Yes it is designed to be in constant contact with the pressure plate fingers. If you adjust it far enough back to not be in contact I doubt you will be able to get it in gear.

I think the bearing off the fingers is for older cars. Not sure if it's the quality of the bearings back then but they were meant to be not turning when your foot is off the pedal.

My Ram has a hydraulic clutch and it's also leaves the bearing in constant contact with the fingers.
