Hereis a pic withall three pcs.
The new PCV valves have 1 large and 1 small, you plug the small one.
The do look different but will work.

They just use the valve and no adapters or such. The one you have pictured is prolly not the right one for the car, or it may be a universal type. I wouldn't mess around with those.
Use the motorcraft one!!!

Would I be ok if i just replaced the damn mesh thing? and not even worry about the sprout thing b/c I'm clueless on where those sprouts go

Ok, so I figured it out, the valve itself was still stuck to the hose, and I thought it was part of the hose itself due to the threaded thing and that they were both the same black color, so now I think you guys can understand why I was so confued when the guy gave me a silver thing with sprouts comming out of it. thanks alot for the help!

There is only one spout... The valve you have a picture of is the wrong valve. The PCV valve is the one that says "Motorcraft" on it in the picture I (50resto) have provided. Only one connection and it slips into the grommet.

you can most likely pull the black part with the 2 spouts off. Then you will be left with the PCV Valve that looksl ike the original.That's what I did for mine.
