ya, its not such a big deal REALLY. i mean if ur lookin for drivability and reliabilitygo with the FI, but if the FI is frustrating after this try...then f**k it! its not gunna kill u to drop that carb in there obviously!

If you do decide to go with the carb swap, take that Edelbrock and place it at the bottom of your garbage can, then go buy a Holley or Demon (or any of the holley-type carbs).
On my Ram I gained over 100hp/100ft-lbs by doing just that.

i'm in the research stages of a 331 of a 418 build up. i'm switching to a carb also. it's true you can fine tune a fuel injected car to be mor fuel efficient but the hp i don't totally agree. i use to swear by f/i but no i see different. for one it's alot cheaper to run a carb. a lower et. is easier to come by. plus i read someone said that the throttle response is better w/ f/i. not true. if i were you i would ditch the carb you have and get a 650 demon. for the mods you have that will be plenty. and if you can afford it a set of afr 165 heads.

I agree with you about the cost vs performance issue and that carb's would win hands down, but if we arent talking about cost then there is no way a carb is ever gonna offer the tunability of fuel injection... be it hp or fuel economy or drivability or throttle response. You can tune atiming curve on a FI car down to the RPM, same with the AF ratio. You may can keep it close with a great carb, but never could you get the accuracy that you could using an engine management system.</P>
