5w-20? Thatseems like anextremely light weight oil for a V8...Also, why would ford say the 93-95 5.0 should have any different weight oil than all the others (79-up)?

Engine tolerances.... keep in mind that '93+ 5.0's have hypereutectic pistons + engine tolerances are tighter for emissions compliance. BTW.....I've seen modular engines fail when a higher oil weight is used. My son's 2002 GT uses (and is specified to use) 0w20 or 5w20 w/out any problems, noise, etc. And again, too much importance is given to oil pressure, when flow (and lubricity) is what's really important to ensure an engine lasts. If the oil pressure at idle drops to 12-15 psi with the engine hot, it climbs to 40+ psi @2000 rpms, and no engine noises are observed........why worry?
