i got thecar towed down to this mechanic today, he had the car for 10 mins and said the engine was screwed. he hasn't even looked at i don't think and he's already quoting atleast 2 grand to find another v6 engine and to put it in... i asked him about putting in a 5.0l and he said you couldn't do it... and i told him that wasn't true then he kinda beated around the bush and said you could but it wouldn't be worth it... my mom is flipping out on me saying i should pay the 2 grand atleast to get it fixed but i don't think the car is worth it... the body has almost 300,000km on it... any body know if that's resonable or if it'd be better to put in the v8or anything?

DUMMMMB. here, let me help you out. and.. anyother ppl out there trying to find a set of gt40 heads /motor.. I was looking on craigslist.. and i ran across a 96 explorer. it has been wrecked.. but.. it runs. it is a 5.0L and its a 96 which means it has gt40 heads not gt40p. anyways. It is in the Norfolk, VA area and he wants 400 for the whole truck. engine runs good. there ya go.
here is the link to the page for it. call him up.or anyone else looking to get some gt40heads..buy it, rip the heads off, sell it to the junkyard for200.. there ya go.
