need to know which wire is the tach wire on the stock coil set-up or how to locate it with stock ign removed on a 85 stang 5.0

I know use a diagram but i fiured this would be just as fast lol

when i installed my shift light, i had to splice it to the tach line on the coil. If i remember right, it is the green and black wire.

my books say tan/yellow or grn/yellow at the coil. Test it with your meter set to ac voltage and you should have at least a couple of volts on there with the engine lightly revving. Make sure you test this my books have been wrong before....

The tach gets wired to the neg. on the coil, which is the green/black wire like stated above.
