stopped by advance auto today to pick up oil and figured I'd have the dude there check the comp for any codes

well he plugged the machine in and we went through the procedure

the machine pulled these codes from the car

53-TPS Voltage max (guess the Throttle positioning sensor is not reading right??)

33-EGR valve no flow (EGR valve has been blocked off?)

96 Fuel pump secondary open circuit PCM to Battery (have no clue what that means...)


do I need a new TPS, whats could be wrong?

check engine light is intermittent now. will come on randomly and stay on for a random amount of time...

 

Yep.... new TPS should be installed......the other codes will not trigger the CEL.

I just have to wonder what that Fuel pump code is tho, the EGR code is obvious, the previous owner blocked it off... but Ive had no problem with the fuel pump at all...

weird...

I'll have to stop by advance again and pick up a new TPS, how much do theycost?

and whats the hazard of still running with the one thats going out?
