Default 95 gt backfire???

i have a 95 gt with just normal mods exhaust intake and filters wires etc.. I step on the gas and the car feels like its building up back pressure or something. Restricted is what you can call it i guess. Then it makes a huge BANG like a backfire.there is no smoke coming out . im not burning any fluids or anything like that. and my throttle is like s*** it feels like its bogging down or whatever. itsa 5 speed and i just got my transmission rebuliut with new clutch and whatnot about 2000 miles agoAny body have an idea what it is?

When was the last time you changed the plugs in it? has the cap and rotor been changed recently? Does it still ave the Cats in it? Possibly ont of the cats have gotten cloged. Another possibility is the tfi or Tps may be going bad. I would start with checking to see what the plugs look like. You can do a search for doing tests on the tps and tfi on the forms.

if you did a tune up then im leaning toward a clogged cat

just to check real quick, you could take the midpipe and mufflers off and see if it changes anything

Have you tried cleaning the MAF??? go down to your local parts store and get some MAF cleaner and remove MAF and clean and reinstall and retest..if you have a K&N filter the oil from it can contaminate the MAF and skew A/F calculations
