solid motor mounts
Don't know if you'd want those in a daily driver. You will definitely feel the torsion in the chassis and would probably need subframes to help stiffen things up. Not to mention, if you have a lot of torque in your motor, your left side front will lose traction as it could be lifted off the ground. It will help with launches as you will put some of that wasted torsion that is lost in the mounts, right to the wheels though.
My buddy has solid engine mounts in his 69 camaro, its cool and all but them mounts will shake the fillings right out of you teeth. Ive also heard that after a wile of running solid mounts that cracks in the welds of your body will develop.
never heard of the cracks in the body welds before...somethin to think about. im puttin in solid ones, but it wont see tons of street time. what they do is instead of the initial torque turning the tranny, it is taken up by the engine rotating (in non-solid mounts). the solid mounts will not do that, so more of your engine power will go to the tranny/rear end/driving ur car.
solid mounts are really only good for strip only cars as they transmit every vibration in the engine right into the chassis and on to the driver which can make long trips no fun and very tiring. use them only for a race only car IMO.
