Default wiring question

my buddy just bought my old rolling mustang. it had a carb on it so i cut the clips on the driver side harness that connects the computer harness. is the easiest way to just buy another dash harness and cut the clips and rewire on my old car? and will any harness year work? and does it have to be a 5.0?

I personaly would go get a whole one from a junk yard and replace the entire harness under the dash. when u splice stuff together you later can have weak links from corrosion, inturn changing the voltage of sensors to the computer giving a incorrect reading.

Default RE: wiring question

its my friend hes trying to put a stock 5.0 into my old car. i bought a new 1 with paint and no rust. can went 13.4 at 105. with it being hot as hell on my 306 with a carb overheating. i got a 4cyl in mint condition. and im putting a tubular k member in from upr and my 306.im putting fuel injection on. but anyways hes trying to make a stock daily driver. hes got the motor and computer harness. but when i had it the car was carbed. so i cut the driver side harness connectors. im asking what year should i get the driver side harness from to cut connectors then solder in to my old car. does it have to be a 5.0 harness or can it be 4cyl?

there are some differences in the 4cyl harness vs 5.0...your best bet is to find a 5.0 harness to correct the issue

see the only thing i dont know for a fact is that the car is a 4cyl but i bought it with a stock 5.0 in it. then moded it with carb and cut wiring harness. im not sure if the people who did the swap used the 4cyl harness or put a 5cyl dash harness in.....

the dash harness although 4 cyl doesn't need to be changed...in fact you could put a harness for the 5.0 efi in a 4 cyl and be fine... as long as you have a complete efi harness you'll be fine
