Default Alternator Install Help

I got a new 170AMP alternator. I disconnected the old alternator without really looking at the 2 single wires on the passenger side near the bottom. Do you guys know how those wires are suppose to connect? There's a 3 prong connector on the alternator and 2 single wires.

1. Which wire goes to the top
2. Which one goes to the bottom
3. Which prong connects what

Thanks for the help.

Is it a stock replacement or a conversion?

Have you done the 3g upgrade? I dont know of a stock replacement with that high of amperage unless you have rewired for a 3g alt. With the upgrade you will have a 3 prong connector,a single wire that plugs in and a post on the alt. that runs to your batt.

Dudes, I just need to know where to connect the two wires. I'd really hate to ruin this alternator.

pictures of the products being used would be helpful.. or give me a call ill help u threw it.. 170 huh 3g must have been rewound but heck why not just a 200amp then... either way you lose charing at idle with either rewind job.. 130 more then enough and better performance.

Actually I just looked at the specs and it's a 140AMP not 170.
