I swear that when I had only the silencer removed w a cheap filter that it sounded better and had the same effect as when I put the Mac CAI on.

If I'm reading this right your thread asked (looking at buying a cold air intake...)

And your initial statement asked; I am looking at purchasing a cold air intake, and im not sure which style or brand to go with? And by style I mean fenderwell or regular cone. I am open to suggestions.

So to answer your original question I'd suggest Mac, BBK, or the eBay Fenderwell unit if you're looking to buy a nice looking cold air intake.

For adding any addition performance, more than likely there isn't any more performance gains over the stock air box and removing the air silencer and adding a good filter, but then your left with looking at the ugly stock hosing to the air box and that's where I said comparing the stock unit with a nice filter or buying an after market Chrome fenderwell unit there is no doubt in my mind that I'd pay $100 to have something that looks nice and clean in my engine bay.
However if you the type person who is looking for just cheap hp gains and could care less about how things look when you open your hood, then by all means go with the stock unit and don't spend a few dollars for something that looks nicer.
