Default 70'S 306 SHORTBLOCK

Hey guys I found a 306 shortblock from a 70's ford, my question is will I be able to bolt up to my heads and anything different from the 70's block roller non roller etc......???

it's a non roller cam block and probably the cam carries a non h.o firing order which will pose a problem for your sefi induction .....cause the injectors are fired in sequence in accordance with the firing order which is a function of the ecm

you'll have to use special retrofit style lifters with the link bars on top which cost 400.00 dollars otherwise in a older non roller block the stock oem roller lifters will protrude out of the lifter bores and oil the lifter valley...talk to woody at ford strokers on this matter.. he spent 10 minutes explaining what I would need if i wanted to uses a older block and my 282 hr cam in it

oh well scratch that idea, im just trying to figure out what im going to do . The heads will arrive tommorow and after taking it to the machine shop and making sure its all good I will proceed to pull out my engine.
I was thinking of just bolting the heads on, its just that it smokes a little and I dont want to end up tearing it out again because of the piston rings. Otherwise it doesnt knock or anything Im also thinking about stroking it and how much [&:], I love this hobby
