Ok heres the scenerio. I have a 87 GT. Should be speed density right. I bought the car back in May. This is my first EFI Stang. I have always had carbed Fords. I just took it for granted that it was still a Speed Density car.

Today I bought a new hood from a local guy. When he dropped off the hood he looked @ my car and said that it had already been converted to Mass Air.

From the pic can you tell if this is Mass Air or Speed Density. I know it sounds like a dumb question but I am new to this EFI stuff.

That would be a Maf sensor.

Thats a good suprise, now pop off your kick panel and see if you have the real deal A9L or A9P

Well that was my next question? Which computer should it have? The guy I bought the hood from is also selling and 73MM MAF sensor for 50.00 with the computer. We plugged the 73 MM into my car and the car started and ran but idled like crap and surged bad.

If I buy this MAF from him what will I have to do to get my car to run right with it. And your right it was a nice surprise. I was planning on going carbed because I didnt wanna fool around with converting to MAF.
