starting problems
out at the drag stip today one of my battery terminals melted and the car would no longer start well i got her pushstarted and decided to call it an day went home put 2 bran new battery cables on got in the car click, click, you could hear the pinion gear on the starter comeing into contact with the fly wheel, but the starter wouldent turn. so i thought well maby the battery dident chage with the fryed cable on there, started it up and drove around came back home parked shut it off and tryed to restart it. and the same thing happend again. so i started thinking well my battery is bad, i pulled the battery out of the bmw (bran new battery) and it did the same thing. now here is the thing. iv been having some problems out of the starter silenoid laty, but seems how i can hear the pinon gear come out and engauge with the flywheel it seems to me like its the starter? whats your ideas

RE: starting problems
I think I'm running into the same problem. Not the melted wires but the starter.
It is just one solid click and it sounds like the solenoid is clicking along with a click from under the tranny tunnel (the starter).
I honestly think my starter is bad.

RE: starting problems
well iv had problems with the siloniod for a while but i could always beat it once or 2ce with an wrench and it would fire also before i wouldent hear the clunck under the tranny tunnel i guess i might need both, im thinking theres eather an highresistance connection somwhere in the starter circet or my starter went out
