starting problems...
ok so i put my battery in the trunk and it might be a bad ground, havnt investigated that part. but when i had it grounded to where the trunk bolts on it started up good for a few days... then it started really really slow, and sometimes not at all. then i switched it to the other side and grounded there. same thing, good for a couple days and then crap. yesterday i was driving it and i had to slow down for a turn and as i started the turn it died, and i had to get jumpers... i have 2 gauge wiring, and stock altenator, with a regular battery, im soon to get a battery with like 1,200 or 1,500 cold cranking amps... would that help? also could it be my stock altenator? what do those run stock? and would this be a good upgrade????

RE: starting problems...
89,
Well sounds like a bad ground, I'm not thrilled with the mustangs grounding capibilities in the rear of the car either, but I know that if your running underdrive pulleys, your are definately not getting the charge you need. My alternator was rebuilt by a guy who specializes in Mustang alternators and underdrive pulleys. Optima red tops by far are the best battery out in my opinion. Find a good ground, clean it up real nice, when your driving and all your lights start to dim, its your altenator. Good Luck!! A good battery gives ya peace of mind, regardless.

Yellow Top Optima FTW!!! will hold a bit more electrical probs than a red top. 40 bucks more but i thought it was worth it. Again sounds like a bad ground and with the underdrives and a stock alt isnt helping either.

There is a reason Ford put a ground on the Engine Itself.
That little thin ground strap from chassis to Driver Head, is whats been starting your starter[:'(], every other ground point is isolated . So run a wire to the block or AC Mount bolt and your good guy.
