Default question for all people who have replaced the fuel pump

Ok really quick question, I just put a Holley 255 in my car and installed it back into the gas tank, and was wondering if I did it right. The filter at the bottom of the pump has to has to fit into that 4 by 7 inch (?) tub in the bottom of the tank right?
