I've chewed the splines up....

 

im replacing one of my axles right now. My car kinda shakes sometimes while driving at certain speeds and when i push on the breaks my entire car shakes and my back tire squeeks. Then we were changing the tire once and noticed that before we took the tire off and had it up on jacks the tire wobbled back and forth. We have the axle out right now i just gotta go and get a new axle, Although me and my dad were trying to see if the axle was bent by rolling it around on the ground and trying to look for nothing but did not see anything. My bearings seem to be perfect to. I just hope its the axle. It was a pretty easy job actually, jsut gotta put the new axle in now. I just hope thats the problem

they also told me if this doenst fix it it could be the axle tubing got bent. They said thats a paint in the *** to replace and most people just replace the entire rear end instead? Any know anything about replacing the axle tubing>?

 

they checked the ring and pinion and thats fine. I want to know whats causing the clunking, bad C-clips, bearings... what???

 

why dont you ask them

 

I took it to the trans shop and they said I have bad axles, they even showed me that the ring and pinion is set right, and with my eyes I can see that the axles will turn about a 1/4in. before the ring and pinion even move. but the trans shop told me the axle are bad and thats it.

 

well didnt you say that you were going to beef up the axle anyways
