You might look for a progressive linkage setup for the 2x4 intake. That way you only run off one carb till you jump on it.
And I don't have to worry about finding 93 octane. It's everywhere on the east coast, at least where my car will be drove at least. I was considering a 10.5:1 compression. My plan was to get some pistons and heads and take them to a machine shop and let them deck it to where I want it.
As for pistons, the ones I was considering were a 1.605 compression distance flat top piston. I could get a set of Sealed Power's for $100. What compression range would I be looking at with these?

I have heard good and bad about Patriot, but they seem to be good for the most part in the modular community. I don't really plan on aftermarket heads for the moment though. I know where I can get some '69 351W heads for a good price, so I may get them and do a little port work.
