engine rebuild ?
I picked up a spare engine that I am going to start building on the side over spring....Its just going to be a mild build with gt 40 stuff...my question is....once I tear it down should I put new rings in it or just leave the stock stuff be....the engine has approx 80k miles on it ran good when pulled...no smoke...

RE: engine rebuild ?
If you're tearing the ENTIRE thing down, then sure. But you said mild build, which makes me think you're not going to do anything to the rotating assy. Screw it, not worth the time. They'll last a lot longer

RE: engine rebuild ?
yea I was planning on leaving the rotating assm. stock...this isnt a daily driver...It will be driven maybe 3 or 4 thousand miles a year...so if i didnt have to tear it completely down that would be nice...I just want to get a couple years out of it....
