Recently my low coolant light came on in my 94 cobra. I opened the radiator when the car cooled and added water until the coolant reached the brim. I thought this would get rid of the light but it seems i just didn't have enough room in the radiator to add a sufficient amount of water.
Is there a process to open up the engine so I can add more water? I can't start the car with the radiator open...

the sensor is in the overflow...fill it to the mark.

 

start the car up with the radiator cap off, when the thermostat opens fill it full. if you use cold water it might close again so wait to see if it opens back up and fill it up

It's the reservoir, not the radiator! Fill the reservior.
