RE: Some questions bout 86 GT tune up
btw go buy some high doller fuel injector cleaner.
i know alot of ppl say "44k" is crap, but it honestly worked great for me.
improved my idle alot, but my gas mileage was the same.

ok.......
first off, 1986 5.0s used E6 heads, which used Autolite #2545s so stick with those, .50 gap is fine
next, go to autozone and buy the Bosch wires w/lifetime warrenty
last get the Motorcraft cap and rotor(might have to go to a Ford dealer for that)

okay so, these spark plugs?
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...p;autoview=sku
Then the bosch wires, wich maybe Autozone will have.
And how come the Motorcraft? I got no problem but i'm just curious. Is there anything wrong with the MSD?

Also, would it be that bad to get some more affordable wires? I know I won't get a lifetime warranty or anything but would it cause any kinda problem?

Why waste the extra money on the msd cap and get autoparts store wires.. either do all the parts at jegs and get some ford racing wires or just pic all the stuff up at your local parts store and it'll for sure be right

RE: Some questions bout 86 GT tune up
I found the best fuel cleaner was techron.
First make sure you change your fuel filter. Then when your tank is under half, drop a bottle of this in. Take it for a nice little drive. With your tank only being half full it'll send a more concentrated dose through everything helping it to clean out better. May be necessary to repeat this step a couple weeks down the road. Might as well clean it as much as possible especially if it hasn't been taken care of very well.
