You use a carb with sealed throttle shafts and reenforced floats, and enclose the carb, or run a bonnet on it. It's called blowthrough. You don't see it a whole lot, but it works very well.

you use a blowthrough carb and hat on it and will have to tune it well depending on level of boost desired

Dude one of my buddys has a 302 with Trick Flow Twisted Wedge heads, and a built bottom end, with a homemade turbo set up. I will say I was impressed, his car flys, he runs drag radials(Nitto) and runs 11.50's, not bad plus hes still messing with AF Ratio's and what not.

Talk to (CPRStreetmachines) on here. Both Richard and Dustin have blow through setups that they built and tuned themselves.

Richards car...

o cool that all helps alot. i guess i knew all along what this setup was i just didnt realize it. im thinking about doing this setup but how much power can you push safely? it would be alot easier for me to slap on some nitrous though

Nitrous is easier, but expensive in the long run. blowthrough setups are the easiest of turbo setups, no messin with computers or expensive efi parts. im currently runnin about 450 on the street, 600 for playin around. (i know its a time bomb but hey, if it blows, it justs give me a chance for a bigger better motor)
