Default How restrictive are stock mufflers?

At what power level should I look into new mufflers?

Can the stock muffs be gutted?

I have Summit headers, Pypes X-pipe and dumped stock mufflers.

If you dont want it too loud, just do some Flowmaster 3-chambers (Force -II). I currently have the catback on my car. It is fairly quiet at idle, and then screams when you open it up. Here is a soundclip of my car when I had the 3 chambers, JBA shorties, and BBK catted H-pipe. I have a set of 2 chamber dumps that Im putting in this weekend to compliment the recent MAC LT and o/r H install.

If you want, I'll sell you the catback. The tailpipes are abit worn, and the previous owner dented in the pipes a little bit so he could fit slicks.

Really I just want to know if the stock mufflers are a problem now or will be with the nitrous.

No way to know how much power they cost you unless you do a before and after dyno run. Mufflers are cheap. Pick something out, and put them on, or just keep what you have.
