While driving the car shakes, this happens in all gears. When the clutch is depressed the vibration is still there while coasting. It seems as though when releasing the clutch while coasting the vibration goes away for a split second. Does this sound like the driveshaft or rearend? Any info. would be much appreciated!

 

Sounds like a driveshaft to me I would replace the U joints since they are easy and check the differential fluid level. If I hasn't been changed in a while then change the gasket and the fluid.

 

i agree sounds like a u joint replace them both its an easy fix. i usually buy the ones that have a grease fitting on them. that way u know they always have grease... that is if u remember to grease them lol

 

if it is still shaking at idle it is the harmonic balancer

 

Have you a gear chance lately? If the pinion gear is not set right and has too much slop that will cause the problem your describing also.

 

+1 on the gear play causing it if you had your gears changed lately... changing U joints is simple and not too expensive either, I had this problem about a month ago or so. bad u joints

 

yeah mine shakes anywhere from 45 to 70 and i know its not the wheels or the balancer because i can be driving down the road and push the clutch in and it actually gets worse and recently i have noticed when im moving really slow i can hear alomst a griding noise now that i have my windows down due to the warmer weather so im pretty sure its the u joints
