Hey , im about to go to canadian tire to pick up some stuff to start working on my stang. Im headed over to a buddies place who has a pit, and im just wondering what is the air silencer , where is it, and how do you remove it! also is the smog pump slang for the air pump

the smog pump is just that a smog pump its part of the emission crap. The air silencer is in the passenger fender well attached to the air box

Do you just rip of the air silencer, what is the benefit of not having one

yes you should take it out bc its restricting your air flow. The smog pump is the pump below the alternator

Just unbolt your airbox and take it off, then unbolt the bolts you see under there and the air silencer should drop down. Then of course put your airbox back, lol.
