alright, i pulled the #1 cyl intake rocker arm, positioned the dial indicator ontop the pushrod at the closest to an 180degree angle i could get. the cam card uses .006 valve timing. (xe270hr-14)
the cam card i have and their website has a 1-2degree variance, i will post both. the cam card that cam with the cam will be in parenthesis.
intake open 25 (23)
intake close 65 (66)
Exhaust open 76 (74)
Exhaust close 20 (21)
they are for a 110 intake centerline.

at max lift i got 114.5, which is the intake centerline correct?
intake open .006 i got 18.5
now on the intake close, i wasnt sure of when to take the reading at .006, both numbers came out way off. .006 AFTER max lift i got 39.25, at .006 BEFORE close i got 75.5

can some one help me out here, sounds like its retarded by 4 degrees.
the comp chain and gear allows a 4degree change either + or -.

is the .006 advertised check hieght? what are u checking your degree wheel at as far as the dial indicator, ex. I check them at .050.

The specs for the xe270hr-14 are:

218/224 114 LSA +4 ICL(110) do not use the advertised tappet lift numbers or the ICL method, use the correct O/C events @.050" tappet lift, which are:
IO: 1 BTDC
IC: 39 ABDC
EO: 50 BBDC
EC: -6 ATDC (or 6 BTDC)
