Default mechanical vibration

Please excuse my ignorance on this matter but I'm still fairly new to and trying to learn. I've got a 92 5.0 coupe with a procharger. The motor has been replaced about 5 years ago with a central coast mustang 302. My problem is as of recent the motor, or at least I think its the motor, has developed a severe vibration. At first I thought it could be the tired ole T5 gettin ready to go south but the vibration dosent change in gear or out. The motor seems to vibrate horribly from idle to about 2500..then cleans up to about 3500 only to start vibrating again. The rpm range being a guess because the tach recently quit working. Anyone have an idea on what could cause this? I'm in the process of checking the motor mounts and and mounts under the car that could have come loose. Any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

it could be the motor mounts and trans mount, but to me it sounds like a vibration damper, mine was doing th same thing, check that it is on the end of the crank behing the crank pullie, it what you check your timing off of

if you got a brand new engine from coast then it should have came with a new balancer. i think its your driveshaft/U-joints.

question, does the engine vibrate when the clutch is to the floor and you rev?

I agree. Check the balancer. I dont think it would be the driveshaft since you said it vibrates in and out of gear. The shaft only spins in gear....at least when you are sitting still and not coasting to a stop.

no, the driveshaft spins when your rear wheels spin, it in't connected to the tranny when in neutral, but it still spins.

is there vibrations when you are stopped?
