and aaaaactually, i just came across a page i knew of, apparently 1986 was when they introduced the 8.8, before then it was a 7.5

if your interested in converting to 5 lug sn95brakes.com has all the information you need even what parts you need if you want to do it the cheap way from the junkyard.

'85 had the 7.5 differential...... just look at the covers and compare with the pics below.

7.5 =

8.8 =

not all of them did..some had 2.73's and the automatic cfi gt's had 3.27's...had a friend with one that had that option
