they do change the tone.

I run an H and its deeper and grumbles more than an X.

Xs usually crackle more than an H.

depends what you like.

I have an x pipe, I like it
x-pipes add more hp compared to h-pipe.
h-pipe sounds better.
I gave up the low rumble sound for more hp, but with flowmaster american thunders it is hella loud.

actually the x pipe is louder, the h pipe has more of a lower deeper rumble.
I ran my car with no mufflers, just the headers and x pipe, and it sounded like a top fuel dragster.
not really, but just as loud.

I don't know if all the years had them, but an H-pipe was stock with the mustangs. Aftermarket will just increase the size and probably the kinks from the bends will be smoother.

yes you are right, but mandrel bends create more flow, thus creating more power.

whats the point of modding your motor, if you leave the stock 2.25" exhaust in there?
that will be a big restriction.

Not really, YOu would be suprized what you can do to a motor with 2.25 and a little cat and muffler work done and still not be too restrictive
